What is PM Kishan Samon Nidhi Yojana?
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Nidhi Yojana (PM-Kisan Yojana) is a
government scheme, through which all small and marginal farmers will get up to
Rs 6,000 per year as minimum income support. The 75,000-crore scheme aims to
cover 125 million farmers, regardless of the size of their land in India.
When was the PM-Kisan scheme implemented?
PM Kisan Yojana came into effect from December 1, 2018. It
was started by a government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
PM Kisan Yojana explained
Under the PM Kisan Yojana, an income support of Rs 6000 per
annum is provided to all eligible farming families across the country in three
equal installments of Rs 2,000 every four months. The plan defines the family
as husband, wife and minor children. Funds of Rs 2,000 are directly transferred
to bank accounts of farmers / farmer's family.
Who is eligible for PM Kisan Yojana?
• Families of farmers with cultivable land in their name can
apply under this scheme
• Both urban and rural farmers
• Small and Marginal Farmer Families
Who is not eligible for PM Kisan Yojana?
• Institutional landholders
• Current or retired officers and employees of state /
central government as well as public sector undertakings and government
autonomous bodies.
• Beneficiaries with high economic status are not eligible.
• People who pay income tax
• Farmer families sitting on constitutional posts
• Professionals like doctors, engineers and lawyers
• Retired pensioners with a monthly pension of more than Rs
10,000

Aadhaar is mandatory.
Apart from Aadhaar, citizenship certificate,
land papers and bank account details have to be submitted to the concerned
authorities.
